After having dreamed myself in words and images around this strange question, I asked it to a few people whose thought or work mattered to me.
Their answers appear in my first book, published in 1996 by Éditions Filigranes.

This question speaks of the point of view on the world, of the photographic framing, of the choices to be made to develop one's place. Mobile place, open, which accepts not to embrace the universe in the blink of an eye, but appreciates the lack and the absence as a memory of what has been and a promise of what will happen.

Through this question is embodied the beginning of the infinite.
In the twigs, the electric wires tangled in a chaotic landscape. Or far behind the eyes. Seen by, heard by, framed by, the sky begins with the beginning that is offered to it, the box, the paper, the light, everything begins with the idea of doing, of showing, of seeking what blinds. Its perpetual beginning is that of a skin common to all, wide, supple, non-closed, a tent skin, a screen against the burning of infinite darkness.
